On 12 December 2024, we were delighted to unveil N°8, our new-generation SUV Coupé that redefines mobility and 100% electric driving standards.
Immerse yourself in the world of N°8. We'd love you to explore the secrets of its design through new and exclusive content.
Did you know?
From the DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE concept car unveiled in early 2020, N°8 was already on the minds of the designers.
With its dynamic silhouette, N°8 has been designed for efficiency, embodying the future of SUV Coupés. A genuine craft with flowing lines and a spacious interior, it combines modern engineering and artisan’s expertise for exceptional comfort and staying power over long distances.
As on DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE, the extended duo-tone paintwork uses a deep black. This colour features on the roof, extends over the bonnet and up to the grille. This extended duo-tone further enhances the character and elegance of the profile and represents a nod to the heyday of French coachbuilding.
The "Paintjet" technology used to create the black surface on the bi-tone bonnet is a world first in mass production. Its application process does not require a curing phase and thereby lessens greenhouse gas emissions.
Inside, the dashboard wrapping round the occupants, the tapered seats and the care taken with the materials served as inspiration for N°8's ambience, which focuses on comfort and calm.
The dashboard's wing wraps round the occupants. It illustrates "seamless design": both decorative, like a piece of craftsmanship, and ultra-high tech through the integration of the sound system, air vents and light signatures. It perfectly highlights the alliance of "High-Tech" and "High-Craft" which represents the alchemy between technology and the implementation expertise for the material (aluminum, wood, etc...). The large curve that shapes the cockpit brings dynamism and serenity through the purity of its design.

Each exterior part in contact with air flow was sketched and then prototyped. The aerodynamic performance of the concepts offered by the design was evaluated using 3D simulation, then in the wind tunnel. All possible combinations were verified in prototype to calculate the range of the configuration. In total, more than 400 hours in the wind tunnel and more than 800 configurations were quantified.
These steps have made it possible to reduce air resistance: studies have resulted in a 15dm2 gain and 60 km of combined WLTP range.
We are preparing other new and exclusive content for you to explore N°8 from a new perspective.
